| Digital Finishing Package Chosen to Finish Litho Output |
The experience of Novaprint of Leicester demonstrates that finishing products designed primarily for digital output can work equally well in a litho environment.
Novaprint has just installed the multi-functional DigiFold 5000P from Morgana to crease and fold output from two Heidelberg presses - a 5-colour Speedmaster and a 2-colour press. “We use it mainly for short run work”, says Novaprint’s Andrew Robinson, “and it has proved the time-saving value of being able to crease and fold in one pass. The fact that it easily copes with stocks of 350 and 400gsm is vital and it is also very useful for handling the 4pp and 6pp work that makes up a significant part of our business.”
The other part of the package bought from Morgana is a CardXtra business card cutter. “This is a service we have always offered”, comments Robinson, “but using conventional methods wasn’t very profitable and tied up a guillotine unnecessarily. Now we avoid bottlenecks by using the templates of the CardXtra to produce cards in a fraction of the time.”
