Stralfors, a provider of technology based print and communication services, has now taken delivery of a Duplo Digital System 5000 Bookletmaker purchased at IPEX 2010. The booklet maker will provide new functionality at Stralfors’ Orpington site to automate short run production of digital booklets at speeds of up to 5,000 per hour.
Stralfors will use the machinery in a number of campaigns for clients in travel, entertainment and financial services. First trials on personalised digital booklets including variable data and images have been completed successfully and feedback from the production operators has been that the equipment is easy to use, fast and reliable.
Tony Plummer, UK Operations Director at Stralfors, said: “We looked at a number of suppliers, but Duplo outshone them in terms of functionality and speed plus we have confidence in Duplo’s reputation for building robust, high quality machinery.”
The Duplo 5000 will be used to complete customer applications printed on the companies iGen and Nuvera digital printing machines and will collate, trim, crease, fold and stitch as well as verifying the accuracy of all variable data.
